Prof. Dr. Yonca Hurol's presentation outlines old problems, such as plagiarism, authorship disputes, research duplication, and issues related to using illustrations. Then it delves into new challenges, including predatory journals, citation-related problems, the production of manuscripts via paper mills, and the use of AI in academic research. The presentation also examines traditional and contemporary measures adopted by academia and the publishing world to combat these challenges that threaten their reliability.
